Day 25 Returning to England

29/6 Hot. Morning in Cite de Europe, lunch in Calais. Chris had Moules Roquefort.

Day 21-24 Holland

25/6 Groningen and over the dam/dyke at Isjlmeer (12 miles long). Heavy rain all the way to Utrecht. Big site with water skiing. Still raining and 11 deg C.


26/6 Strandcamping Groede. Cycled east along the dunes (12 miles) and getting hotter. Dinner at Puur beach house.

27/6 Hot! 34 Deg C.

Cycled into Breskens then beach in the late afternoon.

28/6 Still hot but thunderstorms in the night. Drove into Breskens and bought some bike bits, then onto Guines: Site full, so ended up 16miles south of Calais in Liques.

Day 19-20 Zealand - Holland

23/6/11 Down Zealand to Mon and Monsklint (white cliffs).





On to Sakskobing on Lolland. Cycled 10 miles by the fjord and through woods.


24/6 Sakskobing to Roydhaven and caught the ferry to Germany - (very expensive). Drove 300 miles to a site near Groningen.

Day 17-18 Copenhagen

22/6 Into Copenhagen on the train for the day. Walked miles, saw the Tivoli gardens, Little Mermaid and more.

Day 14-16 Ystad

19/6 cycled into town and carried / pushed bikes over railway bridge! Had coffee in Wallander's favourite café.

20/6 Spent the day in town. Lunch on the town square.

21/6 Up to Malmo and over the Ostresund bridge to Isohoj, just south of Copenhagen.

Day 13 Sweden!

18/6 Intending to stop on Zealand, drove straight through (raining) and crossed over to Sweden at Helsingor.


Stopped at Lanskrona and cycled to the citadel.

Day 10-12 Funen island

15/6 stayed at Middelfart next to the lagoon.

16/6 Visited a lovely castle Egeskov Slot and camped at Thuro just off South Funen, next to the beach.

17/6 drove into Svendborg.

Day 7-8 Jutland

13/6 Hvinde Sande on the west coast of Jutland just behind the dunes. Stormy. Cycled into town and got soaked on the return.


14/6 Holstebro town (loads of statutes) and down to east coast of Jutland. Nice pitch overlooking the Baltic.

Day 6 Ribe

12/6 Ribe. Very modern campsite with plush facilities. Noisy group of Danes on the next pitch.

Ribe old town was good.

Day 5-6 Tonder

10/6 Cycled out to Mogel Tonder where the prince lives. Very pretty village. Drove back into Germany briefly to stock up on booze.





11/6 Tonder again - quiet day.

Day 1-4 Which way will we go?

6/6/11 Went through the tunnel and decided to head to Strandcamping Groede. Stayed 2 nights and cycled into Breskens. Had some rain.
8/6 Stayed 1 night on Reutum De Weuste and cycled alongside the canal.

9/6 Drove through Germany, stopping near Hamburg for fuel. Arrived just across the Danish border at Tonder - 500miles+. Walked into a cobbled town.
