Monday 17 June 2019
We traveled up through The Burren. Stunning scenery.
And on through Galway a pretty town.
In the afternoon we cycled to Cong where ‘The Quiet Man’ was filmed. Very pretty between 2 lakes.
Cycled a lot in the grounds of the castle which is now a hotel and huge- got lost lots of times! It had tennis courts, clay pigeon shooting, archery, falconery their own heli pad to name but a few ! If you wanted the presidential suite it would cost €5000 a night! Back to the camp site !

Day 11 Kinsale
Tuesday 11 June 2019
Well what an eventful day. We set off to meet up with Helen and Steve in Blarney- however we got there to find that Steve had caught his bumper on a waste bin!
Managed to stick it back in place with duck tape and decided after a short walk to head for the campsite.
The owner managed to point him to a kindly mechanic who will stick it back in place tomorrow- phew! Time for a drink.
Went for a cycle in the evening only for Helen’s pedal to come off. It looked fairly serious for a while but Martin cycled back to the site for a few tools and all was well! Definitely time for another drink. We should all sleep well tonight.

Day 10 Tramore
Monday 10 June 2019
We were woken at midnight with a fearful noise. Turned out it was a helicopter over the cove hovering for about 30 minutes. No idea what that was about.
Helen and Steve arrived and after lunch and after a few nasty showers when we took time for a planning meeting we walked down to the bay. We then walked back for swimming things and Martin and Steve went in for a swim.
The weather remained good and we cooked and ate outside.
Anyway the next day the weather started of well and we cycled down to the sea front.

Day 7 Kilkenny
Friday 7 June 2019
Heading for Kilkenny today. Stopped off at a small town Bunclody for coffee. It was really busy but we don’t know why.
The site is just outside town so we walked in along the canal. The cathedral has a very unusual round tower.

Wednesday 5 June 2019
The rain has stopped and it’s a nice day. Packed the van and left Richard’s. Had a nice stop in Pembroke near the castle.
Then we headed for Pembroke Dock and left on the 2.45 sailing. It was a great journey and we met Hazel and Paul onboard. They are having a week touring. Spent the night at a large but quiet site near Rosslare where we planned our next few stops.
