Day 7-9 Back to Groede

8/9 Down through Friesland to Nieukirk.
Waterside site and cycled 5 miles into town.


9/9 Nieukirk to Strand Camping. Cycled 13 miles there and back to what we thought was the Belgian border but we were 1km short. Watched the lifeboat being pulled back in on a tractor. Hot!





10/9 Cycled into Breskens and walked about the town, harbour, marina. Sat in the awning when we got back, getting ready for the return trip to home.

Day 5-6 Dokkum

6/9 Sloten, then Franeker for the Planetarium and on to Dokkum. Town centre site, but ok. On the way we stopped to see natural mummies in a church.

7/9 Drove out to the coast as far as the ferry to Ameland. Walked into Dokkum in the evening - very busy with shoppers.

Day 3-4 Stavoren

4/9 Drove up to Stavoren in Friesland. Cycled into the town in the evening along the dyke.





5/9 Cycled into Hinderlopen (skating museum about the 11 cities race on the frozen canals) and on to Workum for the Jopie Huisman museum: fantastic.

Day 1-2 Groede

2/9 Strand Camping, Groede. Dinner at Puur (mixed grill / mussels)





3/9 cycled to Breskens: hot. Cycled into Groede in the evening, music in the square
